The Panama Canal Authority To Increase Slot Availability in Mid-January
Jan. 4, 2024
Customer Advisory
The Panama Canal Authority (ACP) is due to increase the number of booking slots beginning January 16, 2024. Water levels in Gatun Lake remain low but are expected to improve in the coming months.
Starting mid-January, the ACP will offer 24 transit slots per day, up from the initially planned 18, covering regular, super, and neopanamax vessels. New rules, including slot limitations of one slot per customer per date and slot prioritization for auction spots and market rankings, have been imposed and will remain in effect until further notice.
If you have any questions on how this affects your supply chain or require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our customer service team. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we monitor the latest developments affecting transit via the Panama Canal.
