Haruka joined KWE in 2014 after majoring in law at university. She was first assigned to the Tokyo Sea Freight Customs Clearance Center at the Import Sales Department, and worked for three years in air and sea customs clearance and customer service for major customers. In 2017 she transferred to the Import Delivery section. There, she spent three years taking charge of the Tokyo Port drayage truck arrangement for import cargo. Since 2020 she has been at the Shiba Import Sales Office. Haruka is now an inside sales representative, focusing on improving existing customer satisfaction and increasing import freight volume.
An environment where I can challenge myself
At KWE you can always challenge yourself, with advice from those around you. As an inside sales representative, my current priority is to meet the logistics needs of our existing customers. Additionally, I target to increase our import freight volume; for example, upon identifying an existing customer's business problem, I collaborate with the sales team to make proposals for freight handling on a new lane. Through such experiences, I can keep challenging myself in addition to my usual assigned duties. In this way, KWE provides an environment where I can go beyond my potential, which I find to be satisfying.
Learning from difficult situations
When I was working in the Import Delivery section, the Tokyo Port was facing a continuing and severe shortage of drayage trucks, with none available even for several weeks ahead. Personally, I faced difficulty in arranging the delivery drayage trucks. But after negotiations with delivery companies, we were able to secure the drayage trucks we needed, which contributed to expanding freight volume and supporting sales. Although my negotiations were not directly with the customer, I found this experience to be rewarding.
This experience is also very valuable in my current work in inside sales at the sales office. I want to continue to grow by persevering through difficult situations, so that I can help increase KWE Group customer satisfaction and expand freight volume.
