Mikihiro joined KWE in 2016. After training in import clearance and terminal operations, he was assigned to sales of terminal and delivery services in Japan to customers in the healthcare and electronics industries. During 2019 he worked at KWE Korea as an international trainee, learning about transport and terminal service sales and marketing of new services. Mikihiro was assigned to Corporate Finance and Accounting in 2020 and is currently working on accounting for receivables and payables within the KWE Group.
An environment where I can challenge myself
KWE culture encourages me to challenge myself, which is a good environment for me. During my five years here I have been lucky enough to work in a number of different areas - terminal in Narita, KWE Korea, and now in accounting. And everywhere I worked the great KWE culture encouraged me to take on new challenges. That atmosphere which enables people to use their initiative to take on new challenges is one reason why I like working at KWE. I think I've been able to keep upgrading myself by working with different kinds of people at different locations, even outside Japan. I want to keep taking on new challenges and keep on learning, so that I can be a part of creating KWE corporate value.
Seeing opportunity in difficulty
When I was working in terminal sales, one of my responsibilities was to build new terminal operations. I needed to plan the layout inside the terminal, find the workers, choose the systems, and make hundreds of other decisions about when, who, what, and how for the operation setup. I was always having to deal with situations I had little experience in, including differences of understanding and opinion among the people involved. Some of the situations I had to face I would have rather run away from. But I cleared each hurdle by seeing the difficulty as an opportunity that would lead to my further growth. Right now I am continuing to challenge myself in the new environment of accounting. I want to make the most of what I have learned from our customers, who are the business partners, and from all my colleagues at KWE by taking on new challenges and growing into someone who can contribute to the prosperity of our global company.
