KWE Got On Board The 1st SAF Freighter Flight From Japan
Kintetsu World Express, Inc. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo) is pleased to announce that we fully utilized allocated space on ALL NIPPON AIRWAYS CO., LTD.(ANA)’s inaugural freighter flight using Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). The flight successfully departed Narita for Frankfurt, Germany on September 29, 2021.
A press conference was held by ANA for their SAF project “SAF Flight Initiative” on October 14. On that occasion, Katsufumi Takahashi, Director & Managing Executive Officer of KWE was presented with a CO2 Reduction Certificate by ANA commemorating the inaugural flight.
Using SAF fueled flights should be an actual low-carbon option for our customers. And it contributes to the customers’ efforts for CO2 reduction in their total supply chain.
Reducing total CO2 emission is one of our material topics related to sustainability. Now it is required globally to disclose climate-related data financial and non-financial. We are now identifying specific challenges and setting goals for Scope 1 & 2 emissions (our direct emissions) followed by Scope 3, indirect emissions by our partner airlines, shipping lines, etc.
This is KWE’s commitment to realize a better future and society.
