KWE Obtains CEIV Pharma Certification at Tokyo-Narita International Airport

On November 16, 2022, Kintetsu World Express, Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo) officially acquired certification from the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) Center of Excellence for Independent Validators in Pharmaceutical Logistics (CEIV Pharma) for terminal operations within Narita International Airport.

CEIV Pharma is an internationally recognized quality certification system established by IATA for the air transport of pharmaceutical goods with standards equivalent to the Health Sciences Authority’s (HSA) Good Distribution Practice (GDP). Moving forward, we will continue efforts to optimize supply chains by ensuring safety, security, compliance, and efficiency.

Narita International Airport Corporation (NAA), the operating authority of Narita International Airport, formed the Narita Airport Community in September 2019 to collectively pursue CEIV Pharma certification with facility stakeholders. By March 2021, eight initial member enterprises had obtained certification. In July 2021, NAA announced its support of six additional member enterprises, including KWE, to pursue certification.

Healthcare remains one of the core sectors served by KWE, and with this achievement, we have taken a significant step toward the safe and secure provision of medical and pharmaceutical logistics services.
