KWE Korea Obtains GDP Certification for Pyeongtaek Logistics Center Terminal 3
Strengthening temperature-controlled pharmaceutical logistics capabilities
Kintetsu World Express, Inc. (Head Office: Tokyo, Japan) announces that its Korean subsidiary, Kintetsu World Express (Korea), Inc. (KWE Korea), has obtained Good Distribution Practice (GDP) certification, a recognized quality standard for pharmaceutical logistics.
The certification applies to pharmaceutical warehousing services provided in the refrigerated and frozen areas of Terminal 3 at the Pyeongtaek Logistics Center, which was completed in October 2024. It demonstrates that the facility meets international standards for the proper storage and handling of pharmaceutical products.
The facility is equipped with dedicated temperature-controlled areas, including approximately 500 m² (around 350 pallets) each for refrigerated and frozen storage. It features advanced temperature control and monitoring systems, as well as backup power supply, enabling stable and high-quality handling of pharmaceuticals requiring strict temperature management.
In addition, the warehouse has obtained bonded warehouse status, allowing for non-resident inventory operations. This enables more flexible logistics solutions tailored to customer supply chains and contributes to optimizing supply chain operations with higher added value.
KWE Korea has traditionally been strong in the semiconductor sector and is now expanding its capabilities in the healthcare industry. With this GDP certification, the company aims to further strengthen its offering in high-value-added segments, including pharmaceuticals, and the expansion of import/export and warehousing business opportunities.
Across the KWE Group, GDP and CEIV Pharma certifications are being obtained in multiple countries, supporting consistent quality standards in pharmaceutical logistics. Leveraging its global network, the KWE Group will continue to enhance its healthcare logistics services and support stable and reliable pharmaceutical supply chains.
