CPKC and Teamsters Canada Rail Conference Update

Between May 15-21, 2024, CPKC and TCRC met with federal mediators but made no progress on new collective agreements. Federal Labour Minister Seamus O'Regan requested the CIRB to assess safety implications of a potential strike, with submissions due May 21 and rebuttals by May 31.

A strike or lockout cannot occur until at least 72 hours after the CIRB decision, which is unknown at this time. KWE will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available.
