Paris Airspace Closure for Olympic Opening Ceremony

Airspace will be closed within a 150km radius of Paris from 5:30 p.m. to midnight on July 26, 2024, during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. All take-offs and landings will be prohibited at Paris airports: Charles de Gaulle (CDG), Orly (ORY), Le Bourget (LBG), and Beauvais (BVA). No aircraft will be authorized to circulate during this period.

  • Flight Ban: A no-fly zone covering 28,922 square miles has been ordered by the French civil aviation authority (DGAC) for Friday, July 26, from 5:30 p.m. to midnight local time.
  • Affected Airports: The ban includes Paris airports Charles de Gaulle (CDG), Orly (ORY), Le Bourget (LBG), and Beauvais (BVA)
  • Security Measure: The DGAC states the temporary prohibited area (ZIT) is to ensure air security during the Paris Olympic Games' opening ceremony.
