Los Angeles Wildfires and its Operational Impact (January 7-8, 2025)
Three major wildfires are currently burning across Southern California, affecting the Los Angeles neighborhoods of Pacific Palisades, Sylmar, and Altadena. A state of emergency is in effect for Los Angeles City and county for January 8th. Strong winds, with gusts up to 80 mph, continue to spread these fires, creating challenging conditions and traffic gridlock on evacuation routes.
KWE offices in the area remain operational, and there is no immediate impact on logistics hubs.
Below are updates on key logistics facilities in the region:
- Los Angeles International Airport (LAX): Operational as of January 8th. Please check the LAX website for real-time updates on conditions.
- Port of Los Angeles: Fully operational. Monitor the Port of Los Angeles website for the latest status updates.
- Port of Long Beach: Fully operational. Visit the Port of Long Beach website for additional details.
We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed. Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact your local KWE representative.
