A nationwide airport strike in Germany on Monday, March 10, 2025, is expected to cause significant disruptions to passenger and cargo operations. The trade union Ver.di has called for a full-day warning strike at the following eleven major airports:

Munich (MUC)

Stuttgart (STR)

Frankfurt (FRA)

Cologne/Bonn (CGN)

Düsseldorf (DUS)

Dortmund (DTM)

Hanover (HAJ)

Bremen (BRE)

Hamburg (HAM)

Berlin Brandenburg (BER)

Leipzig/Halle (LEJ)

The strike will run from midnight to 11:59 PM on March 10th as part of an ongoing wage dispute between Ver.di and the German government. Normal operations are expected to resume on Tuesday, March 11th.

Expected Impact on Air Cargo

  • Widespread flight cancellations and delays, affecting belly-hold cargo capacity.
  • Disruptions to ground handling services, including cargo loading and unloading.
  • Possible rerouting of shipments as airlines adjust flight schedules.

KWE will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary. For any questions regarding cargo shipments, please contact your local KWE representative.
