UPDATE AND COUNTDOWN ON FURTHER U.S. IMPORT TARIFFS…
- For additional information and the latest adjustments on imports of steel and aluminum into the United States, please refer to FRN 2025-02832 and FRN 2025-02833. Currently, the additional rate of duty is 25%.

- Additional 25% tariffs will be applied to goods that do not satisfy the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) rules of origin.
- An additional 10% tariff will be applied to energy products imported from Canada that fall outside the USMCA preference.
- An additional 10% tariff will be applied to potash imported from Canada and Mexico that falls outside the USMCA preference.
- An additional 20% tariff will be applied to goods from China and Hong Kong (increased from 10% on March 4th).
- On March 24th, President Trump issued an Executive Order instructing Secretary of State Marco Rubio to determine, at his discretion, which countries should have a 25% tariff imposed on the importation of Venezuelan oil. This will be in addition to and on top of any existing tariffs and will be effective starting April 2nd, 2025.
- For Section 232, Section 301, and International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA)-related U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) CSMS messages.
- On March 26th, President Trump issued an Executive Order, effective April 3rd, imposing a 25% tariff on imports of automobiles and certain automobile parts. The 25% tariff will only apply to the value of their non-U.S. content. Automobile parts that qualify for preferential treatment under the USMCA will be exempt.
