Customer Advisory: U.S. Compliance Update - Call to Action!

- The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will update the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) Portal on September 30, 2025, to include an Automated Clearing House (ACH) Refund Authorization tab. This will enable authorized trade users, already holding an ACE account, to submit U.S. bank information directly for electronic refunds via ACH. This new functionality replaces the prior email-based process for enrollment and is a preparatory step for future transition to electronic-only refunds, though that transition is not yet effective. The enhancement update was announced by CBP via Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) 66332530, and mentioned by us in our Compliance Update issue of September 25, 2025, that ACE Portal Updates were set to deploy on September 30, 2025. This update aims to increase the speed, security, and convenience of refunds for the trade community. Note that importers must have an ACE account to participate in the electronic refund program. This will result in their receiving their approved refunds faster. We encourage all affected importers to review impacted entries carefully. Consult with us to ensure timely action at: customs_compliance_group@kwe.com.
- CBP to hold an Update Operations Call on October 1, 2025, regarding potential operations shutdown. For questions, email TradeEvents@cbp.dhs.gov.
- National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) publishes updated Certification of Admissibility Form effective November 3, 2025. Refer to CSMS 66356133.
