Customer Advisory: Winter Storm Impacts to U.S. Operations
A severe winter storm continues to impact large portions of the United States, resulting in hazardous travel conditions and widespread transportation disruptions. As a result, several Kintetsu World Express offices are closed today, January 26, 2026.
The following U.S. offices are affected:
- Philadelphia (KWE PHL) – Office closed; limited staff working remotely for urgent matters
- Boston (BOS) – Office closed due to adverse weather conditions
- Washington, D.C. area (IAD) – Office closed due to adverse weather conditions
According to U.S. transportation authorities and airline operators, the winter storm has caused significant disruption across domestic air, road, and rail networks. Thousands of flights have been canceled or delayed nationwide, and the Federal Aviation Administration has warned of potential ground stops and delay programs at major airports in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions, including Boston, New York–area airports, Philadelphia, Newark, and Washington Dulles.
As a result, customers may experience:
- Flight cancellations, delays, and de-icing–related disruptions at major U.S. air cargo hubs
- Partial airport operations and potential ground stops in affected regions
- Temporary suspension of local pickups, deliveries, and linehaul services
- Extended transit times across air, road, rail, and intermodal networks
In addition, severe winter conditions have led to road closures, power outages, and limited access to facilities in multiple states, which may further affect transportation and warehouse operations.
Kintetsu World Express will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as conditions evolve. We remain committed to supporting your supply chain needs and ensuring the safe and efficient movement of your goods. For further assistance, please contact your local KWE representative.
