The KWE Group corporate philosophy is to "contribute to the development of a global community through logistics services by creating new values, sustaining the environment and collaborating with our clients, shareholders and employees", and the KWE Group Corporate Guidelines and KWE Group Code of Conduct provide for how to put that philosophy into practice.
The KWE Group Human Rights Policy documents our initiatives on respecting human rights in order to fulfill our responsibility to all our stakeholders as based on our corporate philosophy.
1. Compliance with International Standards, Laws and Regulations
The KWE Group supports the UN Global Compact, and our initiatives on respecting human rights refer to the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the International Bill of Human Rights, the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, and the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.
The KWE Group complies with the laws and regulations of the countries in which it conducts business. In cases where there is a conflict between internationally recognized human rights principles and local laws, we will seek ways to respect the internationally recognized human rights principles to the greatest extent possible.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all KWE Group directors and employees. We also seek the understanding and support of business partners and suppliers involved in KWE Group business activity and services for this human rights policy.
3. Action on Human Rights Issues
The KWE Group addresses the human rights issues of everyone impacted by our business activities. In our business activities, we prohibit forced labor, slave labor, human trafficking, child labor, discrimination in hiring, training, or compensation, and any discrimination based on race, color, national origin, citizenship, religion, sex, age, disability, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by law.
We continuously identify specific human rights matters salient to our business activities, and adapt and modify our frameworks and procedures accordingly.
4. Human Rights Due Diligence
The KWE Group performs human rights due diligence and discloses the results in order to fulfill our responsibility to respect human rights. We build mechanisms and frameworks to conduct human rights due diligence, the process of identifying, preventing, and remediating adverse impacts on human rights, and perform due diligence on an ongoing basis.
5. Dialog with Human Rights Specialists
The KWE Group engages in periodic dialog with specialists and stakeholders.
