|1978||KWE Japan began its business in the Philippines represented by Flying Cargo|
|1982||KWE Japan was later represented by Rapid Air Freight, Inc.|
|1992||KWE Japan established its Representative Office|
|1998||In a joint venture with Commercial Freight Service, Inc. a local company, KWE Japan formed Kintetsu World Express (Philippines) Inc., a duly licensed international freight forwarding company.
It opened in June 25, 1998 with 28 employees and with offices in Parañaque, Cavite, Laguna, Subic, and Cebu. At the helm was Mr. Keisuke Kimoto.
|1999||Kintetsu World Express (Subic) Inc., a warehousing company inside the Subic Bay Freeport Zone and a wholly-owned subsidiary of KWE Philippines, was established.|
|2000||KWE Philippines became the 1st freight forwarder to obtain the ISO 9001 certification.|
|2002||KWE established its satellite offices in Baguio and Clark.
It likewise became the 1st freight forwarder to be certified to TAPA (Transported Asset Protection Association), which certification it has maintained until this time.
|2004||Became the 1st freight forwarder in the Philippines to be certified to the Integrated Management System (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001).
The Cebu Terminal also obtained its IMS certification a year later.
Given its drive for continuous improvement, KWE has maintained its IMS certification up to this time.
|2007||A giant step in KWE Philippines’s history as KWE Japan bought out its local partner to become a 100% Japanese freight forwarding company wholly-owned became by KWE Japan.
It was also in this year that Kintetsu World Express (Clark) Inc. was established.
Housed in a 5,000 sqm warehouse facility, KWE Clark caters to the VMI and logistics needs of clients at the Clark Freeport Zone.
The warehouse has since expanded to 8,000 sqm in 2016.
|2009||Kintetsu Logistics (Philippines) Inc., a PEZA registered logistics service enterprise was established. A wholly-owned subsidiary of KWE Philippines, it is housed in a 3,600 sqm warehouse facility in Laguna Technopark.|
|2013||In its effort to cater to the growing needs of its clients, KWE obtained a 2,000 sqm warehouse facility in Meycauayan, Bulacan.
In 2017, KWE subsequently transferred to a new warehouse double its original size and has been fitted with all the equipment that would make it a showcase warehouse.
|2014||KWE began operating the Airport Logistics Center (ALC), a 6,000 sqm warehouse facility, located along Multinational Access Road in Barangay Sto.
Niño, Parañaque City. The facility is a few meters away from the airport runway and from the head office.
|2018||At the beginning of the year, KWE expanded its footprint in SPL (San Pedro, Laguna) adding another 3,500 sqm warehouse space.
KWE closes the year with the acquisition of a new warehouse space, thereby bringing to 10,400 sqm the total warehouse space in SPL.
|2020||KWE started the year with its acquisition of another warehouse facility in Laguna Technopark.
Amidst the coronavirus pandemic, KWE has remained a beacon for its employees and customers, never ceasing operations even during the most uncertain of days.
KWE employees’ indomitable spirit shone through, proving beyond any doubt that when the going gets tough, KWE gets going.
And so while we continue to face a tremendously challenging future, as one KWE family, made stronger and more resilient by the adversities that we faced for the past months, we shall forge ahead confident in the knowledge that KWE shall continue to do its best to protect the lives and livelihood of its employees.
KWE shall rise to the challenge of a new normal and we shall overcome.
KWE Philippines Gives Aid to Calamity Victims
KINTESU WORLD EXPRESS (PHILIPPINES) INC. (“KWEPH”) did not allow the dangers posed by the COVID-19 pandemic to hinder its relief operations effort to give aid to the victims of Super Typhoon Rolly and Typhoon Ulysses which hit Luzon on November 2 and 11, respectively.
Swiftly responding to the call for aid, KWEPH employees donations came in cash and in kind.
With a contribution from the company, KWEPH was able to purchase 50 sacks of rice, 265 gallons of drinking water, 100 boxes of face masks and more than 100 food packs.
While the in kind donation of used clothing, blankets and shoes filled a total of 50 big boxes.
KWEPH’s caring was felt far and wide as the big bulk of the above aid went to the residents of Barangays San Antonio, Lingaling and Divisoriain Isabela and Barangays Maddarulug, Atulayan and Palagao Sur in Cagayan in northern Luzon,
while a portion went to the residents of Brgy. San Jose Rodriguez, Rizal in central Luzon. On the other hand, the food packs were distributed to the affected families in Brgy.

Barangay San Jose, Rodriguez, Rizal officials were on hand to receive the donations.

A KWEPH employee who hails from Guinobatan, Albay was instrumental in distributing the food packs to more than 100 families.
KWE Philippines Donates to Barangay San Dionisio
In Support of its COVID-19 Response
As a responsible member of the local government unit where it is located, on April 21, 2020, KWE Philippines donated 15 sacks of rice to Barangay San Dionisio, which will in turn repack it for distribution to the poverty-stricken residents of the barangay as part of its COVID-19 Social Amelioration Initiatives.
Majority of the residents of the barangay have no means of income due to protracted lockdown imposed by the government from March 16 until April 30.
