Lindsey joined KWE in 2005 as an Import Breakbulk Specialist working at a local branch where, in addition to the handling of import shipments, she had the opportunity to gather diverse experience in departments such as Air Exports and Accounting. Building on that experience, she joined the USA Business Development Department since 2014 as part of the Process Reengineering team. Currently, as Manager of the Process Reengineering Department, she supports her team members in the onboarding of new customer business and in the implementation of customer SOPs both at a local and global level.
Wearing Many Hats is Fun and Rewarding!
Our department is now part of the Americas Regional Sales and Marketing (RSM) team and being part of this influential group has been very rewarding. Since joining the team, I have been given the opportunity to work with our global network of offices on many interesting projects. Our days are spent working closely with KWE's customers, sales staff, IT departments, and operations staff to do our best to provide our customers with a seamless transition of the handling of their shipments when they start working with our company; and, to ensure that our staff are well prepared to handle our customers' business according to their needs.
When our team is working on a new project, we begin with a detailed research of all the components that will help us create a clear picture of the service we will be providing the customer. Through conversations with sales staff and customers, we transfer the information gathered, and transform it into a comprehensive SOP that is tailored to the specific requirements of each customer. Once everything is completed, my team speaks with KWE's global operations staff to ensure full understanding of the new business. When the first shipment is set and ready to go, the SOP is in place, and the freight begins to move, there is great excitement as all the hard work we've been doing comes into fruition and the feeling of accomplishment is overwhelming.
Kintetsu World Express has afforded me opportunities to grow as a person and as an employee. I have been asked to present information at customer meetings as well as give training sessions to groups of sales team members and management. The positive feedback I received after these presentations was very rewarding and I was very pleased to hear that I have excellent teaching skills! All these experiences give me the drive to keep trying to do better and better and to continue to learn more and grow within the company. With the support of the KWE management team, growth and learning opportunities are endless.
