Benjamin Kohler began his logistics career in 2002 as an apprentice with KWE Switzerland. After gaining international experience as an Export Operations Officer in the UK from 2007 to 2009, he returned to KWE Switzerland to continue in export operations. Since 2010, he has progressed through Sales & Marketing roles and now leads an expanding Inhouse Sales team while serving as Inhouse Sales Manager, focusing on customer support, quotations, and cross-trade coordination.

Building Connections Across Borders

My journey with KWE began in 2002, when I started my apprenticeship in Switzerland. From the very beginning, I was fascinated by the pace, the complexity, and the global nature of logistics. After completing my training, I broadened my experience by working in the United Kingdom as an Export Operations Officer from 2007 to 2009. This time abroad shaped my understanding of international teamwork and taught me the importance of clear, proactive communication in a global supply chain.

When I returned to KWE Switzerland in 2009, I continued in export operations before moving into Sales & Marketing in 2010. Today, I work as an Inhouse Sales Manager -- a role that perfectly combines my operational background with my passion for customer service. I support customers with quotations, cross-trade coordination, and daily challenges that often require fast decisions and close collaboration across countries and time zones.

What I value most at KWE is the attitude of "one global team." No matter whether I communicate with colleagues in Tokyo, London, or Amsterdam, I always feel the same spirit of support and professionalism. This teamwork allows us to turn complex situations into positive customer experiences.

A memorable challenge involved managing a series of urgent shipments during a period of highly volatile freight rates. By coordinating closely with several KWE branches, sharing information transparently, and anticipating alternatives before problems occurred, we secured a smooth outcome for the customer. Experiences like this show me how much we can achieve when we work together.

Looking ahead, I want to continue contributing to a customer experience that is efficient, reliable, and personal. For me, logistics is not just about moving cargo -- it's about building trust through consistent and thoughtful service.
